Why Your Copier Keeps Jamming in the Same Place
A copier that jams once is having a bad day. A copier that jams in the same location every week is telling you which component is worn. The location…
Updated August 19, 2026Copier Repair & Service
We repair and maintain copiers and multifunction printers under contract or on a time-and-materials basis, including machines bought from another dealer. Our target is four hours on site during business hours, and our technicians close 86 percent of calls on the first visit because they carry parts for the brands they cover.
Cost per page. The standard agreement. You pay a fixed rate for every page the machine prints and everything else is included — parts, labor, preventative maintenance and toner shipped automatically off meter reads. There is no charge for a service call.
Fixed monthly contract. A flat fee covering an agreed page allowance, with overage billed at a stated rate. Easier to budget when your volume is steady, and reviewed annually against your actual meters.
Time and materials. No contract. Labor is billed at $105 per hour plus parts. Reasonable for low-volume machines and equipment near end of life, though contract accounts are dispatched ahead of time-and-materials calls.
If your current dealer is slow, unresponsive, or has raised your cost per page every year without discussion, you can move the service contract without replacing the equipment. Our technicians are trained across Ricoh, Kyocera, Xerox, Canon, Sharp, Konica Minolta, HP and Brother, and we stock parts for all of them.
Send us the make, model and current meter reading and we will quote coverage. If the machine is genuinely at end of life we will say so rather than sell you a contract on it.
Frequency is set by the machine, its volume and its environment — a device in a dusty warehouse office is seen more often than one in a quiet suite. A scheduled visit includes removing surface dirt inside and outside the machine, pulling and cleaning the components that collect toner and paper dust, blowing out the paper path, inspecting and replacing feed rollers before they begin to misfeed, checking image quality and recalibrating colour, and confirming firmware and scan destinations still work.
Most jams are caused by worn rollers or damp paper, not by a failing engine. See why your copier keeps jamming for what to check before calling.
Contract accounts get a four-hour on-site target during business hours across the Twin Cities metro, delivered by our own technicians. Nationwide, the same commitment is delivered through a vetted partner network under our agreement and our invoice. When you call, say whether the machine is down or merely degraded — that changes how the call is prioritised.
Many faults are reported by the machine itself before anyone picks up the phone. Networked devices under contract send alerts and meter reads automatically, which is how a toner cartridge often arrives before staff notice the level is low.

Standard labor is $105 per hour plus parts, billed from arrival on site. A typical roller or fuser replacement lands between $200 and $600 depending on the model. Under a cost-per-page or fixed monthly agreement there is no separate charge for a service call.
Yes. Provide the make, model and current meter reading and we will quote a service agreement on it. We carry parts for every major brand, and moving service does not require replacing the machine.
Four hours on site during business hours is a reasonable commitment for a contract account, and it is ours. Ask any dealer for the response target and the first-visit fix rate in writing — a vague promise of prompt service means nothing when a machine is down.
Preventative maintenance is scheduled by volume and environment rather than by calendar, typically every 50,000 to 100,000 pages for an office machine. Dusty or high-humidity locations need more frequent visits.
Repeated jams at one location almost always mean worn feed rollers or paper that has absorbed humidity. Fan the stack, seat the tray guides against the paper, and try a fresh ream. If it continues, the rollers are due — a maintenance item covered under any contract plan.
Under contract, most calls placed before early afternoon are attended the same business day, and 86 percent are resolved on that first visit. Parts that are not carried on the van add a day.
Call for anything urgent. For a coverage quote on equipment you already own, send the make, model and current meter reading.
